I would like to tell the public in this area about the Illinois Guitar league. It was founded 35 years ago and has given many happy hours to thousands of guitar students. Boys and girls, men and women of all ages join in the fun.

Everyone needs a hobby and hobbies are healthy and channel energy in healthy directions. Especially in growing –up years, its effects have a stabilizing effect. Then in the busy mid-years, a hobby can help beat stress or at least, mellow it a bit. Then, in retirement years, a very pleasant and relaxing way to enjoy yourself.

The Illinois Guitar League cannot get any publicity through the media due to the students being from 18 different cities in Illinois.

There are competitions held for all other musical instruments, sports of all kinds, cats, dogs, cattle at fairs, golf to name a few, but nothing, I repeat, nothing until I.G.L was founded in 1971.
